Nely Fibriana Rachman

A climate finance, climate resilience, and nature-based solutions expert with experience in Forestry Science, Nely has a Master of Science in Forestry from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. Nely spent a year working in bioacoustics on Japanese macaques at Yamagata University, Japan, and has been actively engaged in wetland restoration, climate adaptation & mitigation, biodiversity conservation, and environmental finance in Indonesia for more than
five years.

Nely also worked with the Peatland and Mangrove Restoration Agency (BRGM) of the Republic of Indonesia, taking part in peatland and mangrove restoration activities in 13 provinces in Indonesia. Her work there involved participation in Mangrove for Coastal Resilience (M4CR), which was initiated by the World Bank.

In addition, at BRGM, Nely was engaged in monitoring and evaluation, M&E framework development, stakeholder coordination and engagement, and the measurement of the results and impact of the mentioned restoration programs.
Later, she moved to the Indonesian Environment Fund (BPDLH), which is part of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. There she participated in climate program development, donor management, development of funding proposals and project pipeline, and exploration of innovative financing opportunities for sustainable landscapes, biodiversity conservation, and climate resilience. Together with her team, they mobilized more
than USD 10 million from international donors for several projects.

Currently, Nely lives in the United Arab Emirates, where she continues exploring issues of climate finance and nature-based solutions.
